Professor Tas Qureshi
Professor Tahseen Qureshi MBBS, FRCS (Eng), FRCS (Gen Surg)

Professor Qureshi is a Consultant Laparoscopic Surgeon at Poole Hospital and visiting Professor at Bournemouth University. Recognised as an expert by the Department of Health and appointed as a National Trainer on the LAPCO programme, he runs International Laparoscopic Masterclasses and is regularly invited to lecture and teach laparoscopic surgery to surgeons worldwide.
As a visiting Professor at Bournemouth University he also has a keen interest in teaching and training and continues to develop this relationship on an international level.
As a result of him being one of the first surgeons in the UK trained in Robotic Surgery, Poole hospital has been appointed as a European Centre of Excellence, and Professor Qureshi now helps run Robotic Masterclasses for surgeons worldwide. He is also a Proctor at the European Academy for Robotic Colo-rectal Surgery (EARCS).
Professor Qureshi also organised what is acclaimed as the first International Rectal Cancer Symposium with Robotic Surgery to be streamed live on the internet, allowing questions to be asked in real time and offered the viewer both a 360-degree perspective of the operating theatre, as well as a ‘robots-eye-view’ of the inside of the patient.
Professor Qureshi has also set up a successful Enhanced Recovery Programme and was short-listed for the prestigious National Patient Safety Awards for his achievements.
